Please remember to take a jacket with you to lunch. It is getting cold outside and you are not allowed to go back to your locker after you eat.
You must eat or drink all snacks before you leave the cafeteria. Nothing is allowed outside! Clean up after yourself in the cafeteria.
Students ~ You must sit on the correct side of the cafeteria. Lunch detentions will be given if you are on the wrong side!
There will be a PTC meeting Monday evening in the library at 6PM. Please tell your parents they are invited to attend this meeting.
Picture retakes will be Thursday, November 13th.
Yearbooks are on sale. The cost is $23. Bring a check made payable to Jefferson Middle School or cash to Mr. Battles in the main office to place your order.

• Congratulations to our 7th & 8th grade boys basketball teams on their wins over Washington Middle School last night!
Be sure to keep bringing in your orders for our Schwan's fundraiser. Schwan's will donate a percentage of the sales to JMS. The money raised will be used for technology needs such as digital video and still cameras for the classrooms, VCR/DVD players, and toner for our color printers.
You may turn in your order forms to your teacher any time this week. Orders will be accepted through Monday, November 10th. Delivery will be Thursday, November 13th. Customers will pay the Schwan's representative for their purchases at the time of pick-up at Jefferson.
If your parents, grandparents, other family members, and neighbors already order from Schwan's, encourage them to consider supporting Jefferson by placing an advance order with you!
HOT COCOA FOR HEROES
JMS students will be collecting hot cocoa for soldiers overseas. Bring the hot chocolate packets to Mrs. Huffman's room, room 113, and help us fill the bin!
LAPTOPS & PASSING PERIODS
7th & 8th grade students ~ you may only get your laptop from your assigned cart during passing periods. If you are late coming to school or tardy for class, you must wait until the next passing period to get your laptop. You may not interrupt a teacher's class after the tardy bell has rung.
Those students who have met all of the requirements, will be allowed to take home their laptop on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday evenings only. They will never go home over weekends or holidays.
AMERICAN LUNG ASSOCIATION
Change Makes a Difference!
JMS is participating with Change Makes a Difference to raise money for the American Lung Association during the week of November 3-7. Funds will be supporting children from Central Illinois to attend Asthma Adventure Camp next summer. Please help to support the fight against lung disease by bringing in change!

Our Fall Dance is scheduled for tonight from 6-8PM. Admission will be $3 per JMS student.
LAPETITE DELTA PROGRAM
The first meeting will be held this Saturday for the 8th grade African-American girls who are interested in the LaPetite Delta program. See Mrs. Nelson for the registration form or for more information.
Next Thursday, we will be selling yummy nachos for $1 at lunch.
• Students ~ you should drop off your PE clothes in the locker room at 7:50 AM when you enter the building.
• Students who have PE 4th block need to put their uniforms back on at the end of class. You may not leave the gym for dismissal in your gym clothes.
• Students are not allowed on the stage! The expensive stage curtains are being damaged. Stay off the stage at all times!
It is very important that you come to school everyday! Come to school and be prepared to learn each and every day of the school year. We need to maintain at least a 90% attendance rate for meeting AYP.

No passes should be issued during class time! If students are found in the hallway, they will be escorted back to your room.

Whenever you have a guest teacher, you are to show him/her the same respect as you would your regular teacher. The guest teacher knows the BIST procedures. If you are asked to go to the Safe Seat, you must move to the Safe Seat. If you must be removed from the classroom, you will be escorted to room 109 and issued two after-school detentions.
