May 24, 2018 Jefferson Middle School held its 4th annual Highway to Health day on May 23rd. This event promotes healthy lifestyles and safety of students, with the help of local community partners.
May 21, 2018 Our last dance of the school year celebrated our 8th grade students. Prior to the dance, a delicious dinner was served to our 8th graders then they danced the night away.
May 16, 2018 Every year JMS is fortunate to have several 8th grade young ladies participate in the “Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, LaPetite Program.” During the 2017 school year we had seven young ladies and this year we have four.
May 15, 2018 Several IMSA students from Jefferson Middle School visited the St. Louis Science Center on May 15, 2108. While there, students learned about the forces that affect spaceflight and about the science of rocketry from Miss Allison, our leader.
May 14, 2018 The mission of JMS is to educate through high expectations and to adapt to student needs by collaborating with all stakeholders. We will guide students to become problem solvers, creative thinkers, respectful, confident, life-long learners in an ever-changing world.
May 3, 2018 A special visitor, Abraham Lincoln, visited Jefferson Middle School. Mr. Lincoln spoke with our 6th grade students. Our 6th grade students brought in the most pennies for the Illinois Proud Penny Drive at JMS.
Apr 26, 2018 Just under 100 JMS 7th grade science students participated in an environmental education program at Lincoln Memorial Garden and Nature Center. The program included a guided discovery hike of the grounds. The grounds are open from sunrise to sunset, every day of the year.
Apr 23, 2018 The Motown Dance is a new annual event at Jefferson Middle School put on by the black heritage month committee. It is a family affair in which students bring parents and grandparents and dance to music of past generations.
