May 25, 2018 Laketown had a very special visitor this week! Danual Berkley, who is an author and firefighter, and lives in Springfield, IL, came to see us on Tuesday. He talked to us about his job as a fireman and reminded us of safety rules to follow in case of a fire or other accident. Then he took time to talk to us about being an author and the book he wrote, Davy's Pirate Ship Adventure. We even got some signed copies of his book for our school. What a fun assembly!
May 21, 2018 Mrs. Finch's and Mrs. Madonia's kindergarten classes had a fun time hatching eggs in their classrooms. Last Thursday, Brad from Bomke's Farm came to pick up our new little friends and take them back to the farm. He even brought Patch, an 8 week old baby goat to visit. All of our classes went outside to visit with them before they left.

Apr 24, 2017 If you watched this morning's Channel 20 News, you probably saw some very familiar faces! Miss Bolt, our School Social Worker, and two of our 5th grade girls were invited to be guest stars, along with the 'Girls on the Run' marketing manager. They talked about the awesome afterschool 'Girls on the Run' program that Laketown is a part of, along with many other schools. READ MORE

The activities consisted of experimenting with exploration of gravity, fingerprints, and fossils, states of matter, and a tall tower construct. There was a lot of competitiveness in the tower build from the parents, almost more than our students. READ MORE
Feb 7, 2017 Our Laketown family would like to take the time out to thank all the fathers, grandfathers, uncles, stepdads, and many other positive male influences in our students lives.
