To kick off our month of kindness for May, Laketown students collected food and hygiene goods for the first two weeks of May. Our theme was to spread kindness by helping others. We decided to have a 'Friendly Competition' between the two hallways (K-2 and 3-5) on who could collect the most goods: “The Battle of the Wings”. Each item was worth 1 point. The wing that collected the most items would be awarded with a popcorn party, but all students would receive an extra recess to celebrate showing kindness.
Our Food and Hygiene Drive was a success!!! Kumler Ministries received nearly 600 items to replenish their stock. Their staff was very grateful . K-2 won the Battle of the Wings and had their popcorn party on Friday :)
