Lanphier Community Conversation, April 24

Lanphier stakeholders will meet from 6 to 7 pm on Thursday, April 24th to hear about Lanphier's successes with the SIG grant and the sustainability plan. In addition, Mr. Larry McVey will present the next step in the LHS journey to becoming a school-wide Title I school. All parents, students, and staff are invited to attend in the Large Commons.

Community Hero Torrell Lippert

Lanphier junior Torrell Lippert was honored at last night's city council meeting for reporting a house fire, notifying the residents and helping to extinguish the fire. We are proud of his heroic efforts!

Final Exam Exemption Policy

Final exams are June 3rd, 4th and 5th. Remember, if students meet criteria they can exempt one or more exams. Read the rules here!

LHS Making the Grade--April 30th

Lanphier students and staff want to thank all of the volunteers, the college representatives, the ROTC representatives and the staff from MTI and ITT for another successful Making the Grade event held on February 20th! Please see pictures in the photo section of the LHS website.
Community partners will be visiting our students during the school day on Wednesday, April 30th, for the last session of Making the Grade for the 2013-14 school year. During these five minute conferences students will be able to talk about their grades and their plans for the future. If a student wishes to participate he/she must have a permission slip signed by their parent/guardian and returned to their English teacher. Information and permission slip is included at the top of this article in the Pdf attachment.

Lanphier Teachers Earn District Recognition!

On Tuesday, April 10th, Mr. Bob Leming, acting superintendent, visited Lanphier to recognize Mrs. Maryna Mitchell—Teacher of the Year Finalist and Mrs. Chelsey Ziebler—recipient of a Rising Star award. The Lanphier staff and students CONGRATULATE both teachers. We are so proud of our excellent teachers!

Congrats LHS Varsity Baseball Conference Win!

LHS Baseball News Apr 17 Congratulations to the Varsity Baseball team as they picked up their second conference win. JJ Nutaut pitched a completed game. Solid defense and 12 runs scored on 10 hits. Lanphier defeated Taylorville 12 to 2 in 5 innings. Go Lions!
