Tutoring - Tutoring is available in the library Monday-Thursday from 3:45-4:30. If you need help in any subject, the time to get it is now. Please arrive prepared and on time
Detentions - Please make sure you serve all assigned detentions within 24 hours of receiving it. You have three options to serve your detentions per day; before school, lunch, or after school. Over-due detentions will be posted in the window of the North Office.
Drivers Education - If you have not yet received a permit, see Mr. Nika in Room 222 before you go to the Department of Motor Vehicles to get your permit. The Driver Exam Stations now requires an additional form along with your permit application. If you do not pick up this form from Mr. Nika, they will not issue you a permit. If you were in classroom driver's education first, second, or third quarter, and have not received a permit, see Mr. Nika in Room 222 today.
From Our Police Officer - Students remember you are to cross in a crosswalk and cross with the signal. Those who violate the rules can be cited.
Summer Academy - Registration forms should be completed and turned in as soon as possible to the Academic Center. The academy is free to all Lanphier students and will be held Monday through Thursday beginning Monday, June 11, and ending Thursday, July 19. Both breakfast and lunch will be served.
Yearbook - If you have registered to be in yearbook for next year, there will be an informational meeting in Room 313 on Tuesday, May 22, right after school at 2:30 p.m. Your attendance is mandatory. If you are unable to attend, please see Ms. Thompson in Room 313 as soon as possible to pick up materials for business ad sales. **Please note the date has changed due to the distribution of yearbooks on Thursday.**
Library - Your library books are now over due.
Library - This week is the fifth annual free book give-away in the library. Any student may come in and choose one book each day. If any books are left over, the give-away will continue during finals.
Paranormal Club - The last meeting will be tomorrow after school in Room 25. Please attend for a schedule of possible summer activities and events. See Mr. Roberts in Rom 212 if you cannot attend.
Seniors - Decision Day is tomorrow. Show some college pride by wearing something from the college or university you will be attending in the fall. During your lunch period, you will sign the banner, eat some dessert, watch the senior video, and win tons of awesome free prizes. For those on the VIP list, the Pizza Machine party begins at 5:00 p.m. tomorrow evening. Please see Ms. Howell in the College Room if you have any questions. You've done all the hard work, now it's time to celebrate!
Cross Country - Any male or female student interested in running cross country please attend a meeting in the North Gym on Thursday, May 17.
Boys Track - Any track athletes who have completed their season are responsible to return all equipment to Coach Garcia immediately.
Students - Congratulations! If you made honor roll third quarter, have received zero referrals during the second semester, and or have perfect attendance thus far for this second semester, you will receive a giant scoop of Baskin-Robbins ice cream this Thursday during lunch. You will receive a ticket from your third hour teacher that you may use to redeem for your scoop of ice cream. Congratulations again and keep up the hard work.
Drama Club - Our end of the year party will be tomorrow in Room 127 after school in Mr. Wilson's room. All drama club members are invited. See you there.
Come learn about The American Century - Learn why the 20th Century was truly The American Century. This Summer with Mr.Davis, study the following topics in depth: Spanish American War; WWI; Prohibition; The Great Depression; WWII; Korea/Vietnam; The Cold War; The Civil Rights Movement. You must have Mr. Davis, in Room 213, sign you up by Friday, May 18, or you will miss out. There are now only 28 spots available.
