After School Program - The last day for the after school program is today.

Detentions - Please make sure you serve all assigned detentions within 24 hours of receiving it. You have three options to serve your detentions per day; before school, lunch, or after school. Over-due detentions will be posted in the window of the North Office.

Drivers Education - To all driver education students that have not received a permit, before you go to the Department of Motor Vehicles to get your permit, please see Mr. Nika in Room 222. The Driver Exam Stations now requires an additional form along with your permit application. If you do not pick up this form from Mr. Nika, they will not issue you a permit. If you were in classroom driver's education first, second, or third quarter, and have not received a permit, see Mr. Nika in Room 222 today.

From Our Police Officer - Students remember you are to cross in a crosswalk and cross with the signal. Those who violate the rules can be cited.

Summer Academy - Registration forms should be completed and turned in as soon as possible to the Academic Center. The academy is free for all Lanphier students and will be held Monday-Thursday beginning Monday, June 11, and ending Thursday, July 19. Both breakfast and lunch will be served.

Graduation is scheduled for Saturday, June 2, 2012, at the Capital Convention Center at 11:00 a.m. The dress code for graduation is; no jeans or tennis shoes, no denim of any type, dress shoes are required, only cords, tassels, pins or honors received at Lanphier or CACC may be displayed on cap and gown. Graduates are to report to the Capital Convention Center on Saturday, June 2, at 10:15. At that time we will line up. We step off promptly at 11:00 a.m. Lanphier is the first of four graduations held at the convention center so it is important that we start on time.

Yearbook - If you have registered to be in yearbook for next year, there will be an informational meeting in Room 313 tomorrow, right after school at 2:30 pm. Your attendance is mandatory. If you are unable to attend, please see Ms. Thompson in Room 313 as soon as possible to pick up materials for business ad sales.

Summer School - For those students interested in taking electricity and magnetism during summer academy should register as soon as possible. If you have any questions about the class, come see Mr. Hanson in Room 124.

LHS will be offering a great opportunity this summer for musicians! We will be having a summer band that will focus on the original music of America - jazz!!! You don't need to know anything about jazz to participate. All instrumentalists are welcome - including guitar, bass and drummers. Please see Mrs. Hose in room 116 to sign up. Don't miss out on this fantastic offer!

State T-Shirts - These have arrived. If you ordered a shirt, please stop by Room 117 and see Ms. Jurgen to pick them up. You may pick one up today through the end of the school year.

Would you like to be in the spotlight next year? The LHS flag core is looking for new members! No experience is necessary! There will be an informal tryout on Monday immediately after school.

The Volunteer Internship students (6th, 7th, 8th hours) will meet in Room 247 with Mrs. Huffman during 7th hour for their exam tomorrow. Service Learning students will meet during 8th hour tomorrow.

Girls Soccer - There will be a girls soccer banquet at Lanphier on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. In the meantime, see Coach Hanson to vote for awards.

Boys Soccer - For those boys interested in playing soccer next year, summer schedules can either be picked up from Coach Hanson in Room 124 or in the main office.

Come celebrate the last week of school with the Straight/Gay Alliance today after school in the choir room.

Do you have a sweet tooth? Have you ever made a cake and wondered how to decorate it like you have seen in the store? Take Baking and Pastry Arts this summer with Ms. Yadron and you will learn the secrets to making the perfect decorated cake and pastries. To find out more come talk to Ms. Yadron in Room 147. If interested, be prepared to have a sweet summer!

Library Honor Roll - The junior class had the highest checkout averaging over two books per student. The student with the most checkouts this year was Briannanicole Hawksins with 97 books; DArtagnan Preacley came in second with 91 checkouts. Over the past four years, Briannanicole topped the charts agains with 383 checkouts. Mary Herring came in second with 329 checkouts and Dimitri Green came in third with 321. Who says Lanphier students don't read?

Library - Today is the last day for the free book give-away in the library.
