Detentions - Please make sure you serve all assigned detentions within 24 hours of receiving it. You have three options to serve your detentions per day: before and after school in room 39, A and B lunch in room 44. Over-due detentions will be dealt with accordingly. Mega detentions will be held in the small commons on Tuesday and Thursdays right after school.

Attention Sophomores and Juniors - PSAT Testing will be held on October 17, 2012, at Lanphier High School. The PSAT will be given to interested sophomores and juniors on Wednesday, October 17th, 2012, from 8:24 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. The deadline for PSAT test registration is September 20, 2012. Any sophomore or junior who wishes to take the PSAT should register in the Guidance Office. There is a $14.00 fee (cash or check made payable to Lanphier High School). See Ms. Vogt for more information regarding PSAT test registration.


Reminder - From Officer Groth, to all staff and students............. You may not use a cell phone while driving in a school zone. With the start of the school year we have a lot of extra officers in the area and they will be watching for this violation.

Students - Tonight Lanphier will be having its annual Open House from 5-7 pm. Please invite your parents to come out and meet your teachers. While your parents meet your teachers you and your siblings can have fun in the bounce house and soaking your favorite teacher at the dunk tank. We look forward to seeing you all there."

Students: The Lanphier PTO is hosting its 3rd annual T-Shirt Design contest. All designs and drawings must be original and promote Lanphier High School. Contest Winners will become a part of Lanphier history as their designs will be printed on t-shirts and sold throughout the year. Please submit your design to the PTO mailbox in the main office by end of school on Thursday, September 13th.

Avid - Looking for something to do on your first three-day weekend? Come out to Kingpin Lanes on Sunday for LHS Bowling Night. You can bowl with friends from 9:30 until midnight for $15, including shoes. Remember- no school on Monday.

Homecoming - Homecoming is just a few weeks away. It is a busy weekend. The dance is September 29th and all grade levels are invited. While planning and shopping for the Homecoming Dance, keep the school dress code in mind. The dress is semiformal. No jeans, tennis shoes, jerseys or ball caps will be allowed. Ladies need to keep in mind that no bare midriffs will be allowed, belly piercing should not be exposed and dresses should not be so low that more than the middle of the back is exposed. Plunging necklines are unacceptable and all necklines should be appropriate and in compliance with the school dress code. However, spaghetti straps and strapless formal wear will be acceptable for the dance.

Boys Basketball - All boys interested in basketball, that are not participating in a fall sport, are invited to attend an informational meeting tonight, in the commons at 4:00 pm.

J.E.T.S. Club - There will be an informational JETS meeting in Room 124 at 3:37pm on Friday, Ausugt 31st. It is important to attend for those interested in joining this fabulous club.

Environmental Club - We will be working in the garden today before Open House. We need all the help we can get so please come help us. We will have a meeting Sept. 10th to discuss field trips, fund raising and officer elections. If you are interested in the environmental club please come to the meeting at 3:40 in room 135.

Library - Flash drives are for sale in the library. A 4 gigabyte drive is $5. Please see Mrs. Laubersheimer in the library.

Blood Drive -
- All NHS members need to sign up to work at the next blood drive. See the list outside room 110.
- The blood drive is Friday, September 28th. Please sign up to donate with Mr. Covey in room 110.
- You must be at least 16 and weigh at least 110 pounds to donate.
- 9.5 million Americans donate blood each year.
- An adult has approximately 10-12 pints of blood

Tennis - In their first match of the season the Lady Lions fell at home to Rochester but junior Deborah Ziogas picked up her first win of the season in #4 singles. Next match is at home on Friday against Southeast.
