Thanks to Garrett Moffet and Dana Quinn, of Springfield Walks (www.springfieldwalks.com) for giving the Lanphier Club students a special downtown Dead Walk tour. The 20 plus students started the tour in front of the Lincoln-Herndon Law offices and made their way around the Old Capital Building, through the Lincoln National Park sights, before ending the tour at the Virgil Hickox House (1839). Students were told history of the area as well as ghostly incidences that have been reported. Stories include The Lincoln- Herndon offices, the Donner Party, Old Capital, Lincoln Church, Lincoln Home and Park, Springfield High, The Old Theater ( Legacy) the Legion building that no longer exists, and the Hickox House. Students were then treated with a half hour investigation of the Hickox House.
