Dec 18, 2016 Lawrence Education Center's GED and Adult Diploma programs will not have school on Monday, Dec. 19. LEC is part of District #186 and follows the District's calendar. Also, the onlineLEC program will not have school on Monday.
Aug 1, 2016 Registration will begin on August 8, 2016, Monday-Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Please call 525-3233 for further information. If you are a returning student from last year and under the age of 18 the "Permit to Enter" is now on file at LEC. You will need a parent or guardian with you to register. All students will take an assessment to determine placement in program. The process will take about two and a half hours.
Apr 14, 2016 This week students at Lawrence Education Center studied IL state government. Students learned about the IL Constitution and the lawmaking process in their classroom, participated in Legislative Awareness Day at the IL Capitol Building, and spent time contacting their legislators.

Dec 17, 2015 On Weds., Dec. 16, during 3rd and 6th hour a holiday celebration was held at Lawrence Education Center. Students picked a gift and a book to take home. Students gathered on the main floor to enjoy additional time with their peers and a snack. This is a yearly event provided by the staff at LEC. New holiday gifts are donated to the school by staff and are provided to the students.

Oct 1, 2015 Mix It Up at Lunch Day encourages students to identify, question and cross social boundaries. Surveys show that students have identified the cafeteria as the place where divisions are most clearly drawn. So on October 27, students are asked to move out of their comfort zones and connect with someone new over lunch. It’s a simple act with profound implications.
