(Connecting Libraries, Underserved teens and Books)
The Great Stories CLUB is a reading and discussion program. It reaches teens through books that are relevant to their lives, inviting them to read and keep the books, and encourages them to consider and discuss each title with a group of their peers.
Sign up in Room 109 with Michele Romence.
This program is limited to the first 10 students to sign up.
Dope Sick by Walter Dean Myers
Seeing no way out of his difficult life in Harlem, seventeen-year-old Jeremy "Lil J" Dance flees into a house after a bad drug deal and meets a strange man who tells Lil J that he could have made better choices.
Bring your lunch, discuss the book, and you will receive a prize, a certificate, and your copy of the book!
Please check in with Michele Romence in Room 109 on the morning of the discussion, so I can tell your 4th hour teacher that you may be late to class after lunch.
