Pierre Tandy is the CEC Student of the Year!

May 8, 2015 Congratulations to Pierre Tandy on being named the Council for Exceptional Children Student of the Year! Pierre was chosen out of students from around the entire school district. He was recognized for his hard work and determination in pursuing his school goals. We are so proud of all of his accomplishments!

Three Lee Staff are Teacher of the Year Candidates

Apr 15, 2015 Congratulations to Mrs. Burton, Mrs. Dabbs, and Ms. Jones who have been nominated for outstanding teaching awards! Mrs. Dabbs, our first grade teacher, is one of five finalists for the Horace Mann Educator of the Year Award. Mrs. Burton and Ms. Jones, both life skills teachers, have both been nominated for the Council for Exceptional Children Teacher of the Year. We are so excited about the great teachers that are leading change at Lee every day!

Disability to Possibility February 21st

Feb 11, 2015 The 7th Annual Disability to Possibility Conference: "Get It Done Day" will be held on Saturday, February 21st, 2015 from 8:00 a.m - 12:30 p.m. at Southeast High School, 2350 East Ash Street. This is a FREE conference filled with practical information about students with disabilities and all stages of transition. No More ISAT - It's Now PARCC

Jan 9, 2015 Changes are here for our annual state assessment. In the past, students took the ISAT each year in March, which provided a snapshot of student learning. However, with Illinois adopting the Common Core State Standards, Illinois raised expectations about what our kids must learn and be able to do to be ready for life in the real world. We needed assessments that would be aligned with the expectations of Illinois’ new learning standards. READ MORE

Students dismiss one hour early every Wednesday

Jul 28, 2014 This year all district 186 students will be dismissed from school one hour early every Wednesday. Teachers will be using this time to collaborate and improve teaching and learning. This will result in four additional days of student instruction this year. Wednesday-only SCOPE is available for a small fee.
