LMS Advanced Band to perform at LHS Football Game

September 16, 2011

WHO: Lincoln Magnet School 7th and 8th Grade Band, with the 6th Grade Advanced players, the Washington Advanced Band, and Lanphier High School Band.

WHAT: Football Game pre game and half-time performance.

WHEN: Friday, September 16th. (There is no school that day due to school improvement). Be ready to play at the Lanphier practice field (between Lanphier and the stadium, by the North Grand parking lot) at 5:30 pm. Leave small cases with parents, larger ones in your car or any in the Lanphier band room.

The game (Lanphier vs. Lincoln) starts at 7:00. We will play the Star Spangled Banner and the Lanphier school song before the game (about 6:40), sit with the bands in the bleachers the first half, and then participate on the field in the half-time show.

The half-time show will end at approximately 8:30. Your child will be excused at that time, so please make arrangements to meet them then. If you do not stay for the game, the Lanphier band room is an excellent place to meet. Do make plans very clear to your child either way. School sponsorship and supervision of this activity does end after half time.

WHERE: Memorial Stadium at Lanphier High School (North Grand east of 11th St.)

WEAR: Black LMS band t-shirt or black LMS spiritwear t-shirt or sweatshirt, or any solid black shirt . Dark pants (black or navy blue) or dark jeans. Please wear jackets only in the bleachers if needed at all. The only time you will need to remove your jacket is the fifteen minutes of so at half-time when we march onto the field.

WEATHER: We will not perform in rain. I will post an announcement on my website if weather cancels. Do call if you are not sure.

BRING: Instruments, lyres, music, and flip folios.

$$$: Students get in free to the game. Parents will need to pay, just as the football players’ parents have to pay to see their children play. You may want to eat before, or bring money for food for the second half.
