1. A time when the African American artistic community grew and flourished producing a ton of work in a short period of time.

2. W.E.B DuBois is a man that wrote that African-Americans suffered from something called "double consciousness" he pointed out that African-Americans identified both as Americans and Black people at the same time. He wrote a book called "The souls of the Black folk" in 1903

3. New Negro Movement

4. The "Back to Africa" movement has made a huge difference during that time because African-Americans had a higher education. Blacks and also whites began to racial integration that came to a head with civil rights movement of the 1960's.
