The potential exists for some classrooms to view the 15-20 minute Presidential Address on Tuesday, September 8. (The transcript of the address is below.) The viewing of President Obama's speech is optional and not mandatory. There are teachers that choose to make current events a part of teaching and learning. However, if you have some reservations about the President's broadcast and we will respect and accommodate your wish not to allow your child(ren) to participate.
The White House reports the theme of the address is to “challenge students to work hard, set educational goals, and take responsibility for their learning.”
