Tuesday announcements

May 29, 2007

Today is Tuesday, May 29 and it is an A day.

To celebrate our great district writing scores, the 6th and 7th grade students may attend a celebration at Kick's on Route 66 on Wednesday, May 30th. The trip is free, and students who received a score of "High Proficient" or "Advanced" will receive a $5.00 card to use on the activities. The buffet will be available for an additional $4.00, but students will eat luch at school before we leave. We will be at Kicks from 1:30-3:45, and return in time to ride the activity buses home. Parents may also pick students up at Kicks at 3:45.

The 8th graders will have their 8th grade movie premeire on Wednesday, May 30th. Students may pre-purchase a "ticket" to the premeire, which provides them preferential seating, and a copy of the movie for $12.00.

We will have the 7th annual Talent Show on Tuesday, June 5th from 8:00 a.m.-9:30 a.m. That is our last day of school, and we feel tht this will be a fun and positive way to end the year. Our talent show is not a contest, but a celebration of talent. We are always amazed by the variety and level of talent at LMS!

Would you like to keep some of the wonderful projects that the 6th graders have created this year with their laptops? We will be selling CD's for the students to burn their music and projects on. They will cost $1.00 each, and we will burn them next week.

Because the district used emergency days during the school year, the following is an updated list of early dismissal and last attendance days:

Traditional Calendar Schools:
May 31, June 1 and 4 60-minute early dismissal
June 5 Last day of school - 90-minute duration

The 8th grade Panaromic picture is ready! We have extra copies available for $20.00.

The First Day Fund is designed to help students meet with academic success by providing essential school supplies. We are sending home forms for the First Day Fund which can be used as applications for your child, or for your involvement with the program. You may help by providing supplies, or help physically when the supplies need to be collected and packaged. Forms are due on Friday, May 18th.

There will be no more charges allowed. 8th graders must have charges paid up before the end of the year. They will not be able to start high school with a negative balance in their account.

Summer school forms are available in the office. There are many classes offered, including computer training! Please call to request a form, as we have a limited supply.
