Apr 19, 2013 We stayed after school on Wednesday to decorate our rain barrel which is to be placed on LMS property and used to water plants in the garden. We also created beautiful crafts that will be available for donations on the day of our culminating project!

Oct 1, 2012 To kick off our yearlong study of the global water crisis, LMS sixth grade students visited the Illinois State Museum to learn more about their state water resources. A BIG thanks goes out to Nina Walthall and all of the parent chaparones.
May 22, 2012 Family and community members were invited to attend our performance. Cooperative groups demonstrated their knowledge about water using a talk show format. Student-generated scripts included various facts about the chosen region, inferential thinking, and reflective conclusions.
Apr 2, 2012 Students have been participating in online events with the Smithsonian Institute that feature some of the world’s leading scientists and environmental experts as well as representatives of other fields who bring diverse perspectives to the issues at hand.
Mar 21, 2012 We have explored the properties of water this year including how polarity, surface tension, adhesion and cohesion affect the way water acts. Here we are learning about surface tension.
Mar 21, 2012 We were able to use two storm water run-off tables generously on loan from DNR. Matt Heyen and Tony Comerio, civil engineers from Hanson Engineering, came to share their expertise about floods and storm water and the how they affect our city.
