Vachel Lindsay Elementary School is part of Springfield Public Schools District 186. The district has approximately 14,500 students in grades Pre K-12. The district also offers adult education services.

Our school houses grades K-5, educating approximately 530 students. We have the following number of sections in each grade: 4 kindergartens, 4 first grades, 4 second grades, 3 third grades, 3 fourths grades, 3 fifth grades and 2 self-contained special needs classrooms. We have speech and language services, and services for students with learning disabilities. We also serve a large population of English Language Learners (ELL) and have a full-time ELL teacher.

Please visit our classroom web pages for more specific classroom information. Also, on our website parents may find the lunch menu. Parents may also pay for lunches, access educational resources and locate instructional and standards information on the Springfield Public Schools website.

We encourage volunteerism and have an active PTO. You can find a volunteer form to fill out under the PTO section of our website located on the right hand side. The PTO makes it possible for our school to purchase items for classrooms, the playground and the school as a whole. The PTO also sponsors many family activities and student learning opportunities.
