Happy Thanksgiving - Giving thanks and expressing gratitude at OME!

November 21, 2017

November kicks off the holiday season with high expectations for a cozy and festive time of year. Research suggests that one aspect of the Thanksgiving season can actually lift the spirits, and it's built right into the holiday — expressing gratitude.  Gratitude is a thankful appreciation for what an individual receives, whether tangible or intangible. With gratitude, people acknowledge the goodness in their lives. In the process, people usually recognize that the source of that goodness lies at least partially outside themselves.

Students have been working on many projects throughout this month showing their gratitude towards the adults in their lives, their friends, family, and the school faculty here at OME.  We encourage students to do their best each and everyday, letting them know they are valued, and have a special place in our school community.

Our OME faculty has been doing a 30 day gratitude challenge where teachers have been showing their gratitude towards students, parents, their family members, and each other as the month continues along.

We want to take a minute to share our gratitude with you..our parents.  When we are partners and work together towards the common good for your child’s educational future, we are much more successful than working alone.  So again, thank you for all you do each and every day and supporting us, to make OME a great place to be!
