Apr 15, 2018 McClernand School, along with other Sangamon County schools, is collecting pennies and donations in their classrooms to bring an important piece of history back to Illinois. Proceeds from this penny drive will be used to purchase the historic document that certified that Abraham Lincoln could begin his career as a lawyer in Springfield, Illinois. McClernand School will be holding a contest between K-2 classrooms and 3-5 classrooms to see who can raise the most pennies. READ MORE
