FREE T-SHIRTS FOR BLOOD DONORS!! Staff & Students 16 or older can donate blood to the Central Illinois Community Blood Center on Tue., Sep. 25, from 8:30am-2:30pm. Students aged 16 must have a signed parental consent form. You must sign up during lunch, before school, or after school in the Guidance Office by 3:30 pm on Monday, Sep. 24. Teachers & Staff do not need to sign up, you can report to the auditorium at your convenience. Please donate. Mrs. Fisher, in the Main Office, is LIVING Proof that blood donations SAVE LIVES! Attention Juniors and Seniors! Homecoming court elections will be held next Wednesday, September 5, 2012 in the commons at lunch! Seniors may vote for 8 guys and 8 girls and Juniors may vote for 2 guys and 2 girls. Sophomores and Freshmen will be allowed to vote in a later election fro King and Queen only!

Any Sophomore or Junior interested in taking the PSAT need to come to the Guidance Office and sign up. The test will be given Wednesday, October 17th during periods 1-3. The deadline for registering in September 21st. There is a $17 fee (cash or check payable to Springfield High School).

SHS Booster Club will be selling spirit wear tonight at the boys home soccer game, at the September 11th home girls volleyball game and starting this Friday, at ALL home football games. Checks and cash accepted. GO SENATORS!!!
The Cross Country team competed in the Granite City Invite on Saturday. In the Girls JV race, SHS placed 2nd out of 11 teams. Sophie Gullo was the top finisher for SHS. The Varsity Girls finished 8th out of 18 teams. Ellie Hamill top finisher for SHS. The Freshmen/Sophomore Boys team finished 2nd. Grant Luebkemann took 1st place in the race for SHS. The Varsity Boys team finished 2nd Nate Hoffman was top finisher for SHS.
The Senator volleyball team went 4-1 this weekend and took 2nd place in the Lutheran Tournament. Sarah Sapanski & Mady McCarty were named to the All-tournament team and Courtney Pence received MVP of the tournament. This week the girls play Jacksonville away on Tuesday and have their home opener Thursday against Bloomington High School. Come out and support the team.
