Attention all 9th graders and any students new to District 186. Nurse Kim MUST have a physical and immunization record on file or you will NOT be allowed back to school starting October 15th. Also if you have any medications either prescription or over the counter Nurse Kim MUST have a medication form filled & signed by your physician...this includes inhalers!! All students interested in Engineering: The Engineering Explorers Post 6 will be having its first meeting on Sept. 12 from 6:00-7:30 at the Illinois Dept. of Transportation, 2300 S. FREE T-SHIRTS FOR BLOOD DONORS!! Staff & Students 16 or older can donate blood to the Central Illinois Community Blood Center on Tue., Sep. 25, from 8:30am-2:30pm. Students aged 16 must have a signed parental consent form. You must sign up during lunch, before school, or after school in the Guidance Office by 3:30 pm on Monday, Sep. 24. Teachers & Staff do not need to sign up, you can report to the auditorium at your convenience. Please donate. Mrs. Fisher, in the Main Office, is LIVING Proof that blood donations SAVE LIVES! Attention Juniors and Seniors! Homecoming court elections will be held TODAY in the commons at lunch! Seniors may vote for 8 guys and 8 girls and Juniors may vote for 2 guys and 2 girls. Sophomores and Freshmen will be allowed to vote in a later election fro King and Queen only!
Any Sophomore or Junior interested in taking the PSAT need to come to the Guidance Office and sign up. The test will be given Wednesday, October 17th during periods 1-3. The deadline for registering in September 21st. There is a $17 fee (cash or check payable to Springfield High School).

The Boys Varsity soccer dropped to 4 and 2 losing to SHG in Penalty kicks. The JV team fell to 1-1 following a 5-0 loss to SHG.
The girls swimming and diving team was triumphant Saturday over Peoria Richwoods. This is the first time we have beat Richwoods in at least 6 years. Sophomore Annah Carney broke her own record in the 200 freestyle and was 8/100's off the 29 year old school record in the 100 Fly. Natalie Knox and Libby Opfer posted wins as well. The Senators swept all three relays to beat Richwoods 104-82. Come out and watch the girls in action this weekend at the Capital City Invite Saturday at Eisenhower Pool.
