Juniors and Seniors: Mark your calendars and tell your parents that our first Financial Aid Presentation will be Nov. 28 at 6:30 in the Commons.

ALL STUDENTS: Check the Guidance / Special Programs page often to find opportunities of interest.

SENIORS: If you are planning to major in computer science or electrical engineering, have a 3. GPA and a 25 ACT, you should check out the Stokes Educational Scholarship on the scholarship database on the guidance webpage.

SENIORS: The Susan Cook House Student of the Month/Student of the Year Scholarship, a $10,000 award will be given again this year. Seniors who are academically strong and who have school, community and leadershipinvolvement should get an application at an informational meeting next Tuesday, Oct. 23 on both A and B lunches. Come to room 150 at the beginning of your lunch shift to get this important information.

Attention German Club! We will have meeting in the commons after school today to discuss our new German club t-shirt and the upcoming Capture the Flag event with Spanish Club. Hope to see you there.

Attention: Boys interested in swimming this winter need to attend a MEETING with their parents in the Commons on Monday, October 22 at 7 PM. If you have any questions, please call Coach Stephens at 546-2603.

The Junior class will be selling Papa John's Breadsticks tomorrow! Three breadsticks and sauce will be sold for a low price of $2.00. A limited amount of breadsticks and sauce will be available tomorrow on both lunch shifts, so get there as soon as possible!

There will be a short SITE Club meeting tomorrow after school in room 133. If you can't make it, please see Ms. Fox on Thursday for details.

Hey Hey JSA! We will be having a meeting tonight. See an officer for details. Come for food, fun, and bring your friends.

Attention girl basketball players not involved in a fall sport: There will be a short meeting Friday after school in Room #264 for those students interested in trying out for basketball. Please see Coach Scheffler with any questions.

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming next week Oct. 22-26. Stop by and see what's new in books. The book fair will be open during parent-teacher conference hours. All proceeds go to support the author visit in January.

Be A Senator has 2 prime parking spots available for 2nd quarter! You may buy a ticket for a chance to win one of the spots during both A lunch and B lunch from Mrs. Yoggerst in the commons on Thursday and Friday. Tickets are 50 cents. There is no limit on the number of tickets you may buy. Names will be drawn on Friday and winners will be notified. If you have any SHLotto cards that have not been redeemed, you may enter those into the drawing as well. We will have a drawing again for 3rd quarter at the end of 2nd quarter. Winners will need to provide current driver's license, valid insurance card, and make/model/license plate information to Ms. Fisher in the main office.

Attention former BUTLER ELEMENTARY students: If you went to Butler Elementary, please stop by the main office and give us your name by Thursday, October 25. Butler Elementary is working on a special program and would love some past students to help with their students. We'll contact you with more information after we get all the names.

The Boys Soccer team defeated Pleasant Plains 6 - 0 in Regional play last night. Nick Roth, Kaleb Cheung, Zephen Merreighn, and Matt Graham scored for the Senators. Eli Brower recorded the shut-out. The soccer team will face SHG for the Regional title. Come support the Soccer team Saturday at SHG, game time is 6:30.

Congratulations to the Girls Swim Team for winning the City Swimming and Diving Championships last night at Eisenhower Pool. The girls dominated 10 of the 12 events to score 275 points ahead of SHG 233 and SE at 83. The meet kicked off with a win in the 200 Medley Relay with Cassidy Neely, Alex Carney, Megan Wilkey and Natalie Knox. Double winners of the night were the Carney sisters! Alex Carney taking first in the 50 free and 100 breaststroke along with Annah Carney taking first in both the 200 and 100 freestyle. Madison Milling took first in the 500 freestyle and Megan Wilkey finished first in 100 butterfly. There was a spectacular 1-2 finish for SHS in the 200 freestyle relay - finishing first was the relay of Alex Carney, Madison Milling, Cassidy Neely and Annah Carney while coming in a close second was the relay of Megan Wilkey, Brianna Zoschke, Madeline Wagner and Libby Opfer. The Senators capped off the win with a first and third place finish in the 400 freestyle relays. Shoutout to all the fans who came to support the girls last night and Mr. Grossen and Ms. Dvorak for great faculty representation!!!

The Volleyball team beat Peoria Richwoods last night 25-17 and 25-8. Courtney Pence led with 14 kills and Mady McCarty had 22 assists. Maddie on had 2 aces. The girls have Senior night tomorrow at SHS vs Decatur Eisenhower. Come support our Seniors - Meghan Fetter, Lindsay Buhnerkemper, and Mauri Wilhelm.
