Good morning Springfield High! Today is Thursday, November 2, 2017

 

Attention students interested in nursing: On Monday November 13th, Dr. Charlene Aaron, Chancellor of St. John’s College of Nursing, will be at SHS to present the different pathways and licensure to becoming a nurse during A and B lunches in room 150. Students can eat their lunch while she presents. See Mrs. Lauer in the post secondary office for details! 

 

See Mr. Kramer in Room 326 if you ordered a High Pride shirt, they are finally in!

 

Attention SHS Photo Video Club!  There will be a short informational meeting after school in the commons TODAY regarding our photo outing this Saturday.  See you there!  

 

GSA, the gay straight alliance, will be meeting today after school outside the auditorium.  All are welcome.

 

Bonjour SHS! Its National French Week! To help celebrate, French Club will be selling bon-bons for $1. Buy them while you can!”

 

Attention students interested in an alternative to a four year college or university! Universal Technical Institute and Midwest Technical Institute will be presenting their schools and programs in November. UTI and MTI offer certifications in the mechanical trades like automotive and collision repair, health care, cosmetology, and commercial driving fields. Sign up outside the post secondary office or see Mrs. Lauer for details! 

 

Please bring your new gently used coats, hats, or gloves to donate to the students in need at Dubois Elementary School.  There will be a bin in front of the main office labeled "coat drive."  All donations are appreciated and will be accepted through November 17.  If you have any questions, please ask Will Reiser.  Thank you!

Turn in your Senior Superlative forms in to Paige Woods, Mckenzie Lehmann, Natalie Berendt or T'Mya Dumas by November 14th.

Be A Senator will be selling delicious Papa John's Pizza this Thursday during both lunch shifts in the commons for only $2 per slice!! What a deal!

SENIORS- November 15th will be a senior service day (the 9th - 11th grade will be doing a practice SAT test).  Seniors can volunteer, job shadow or visit colleges.  The permission forms will be in guidance, room 104, and must be signed and returned by November 9th in order for the senior day to count as activity.  Get your form, get it in!

 

Time is ticking away. Get your form and money turned in and Join the fun at the Annual Dodgeball Tournament Thursday, November 9th at 7:00 p.m. in the gym.  Get your 6-8 person team together and sign up next week at lunch on Monday or Wednesday. The Booster’s representatives will be in the commons with the sign ups and they are also in the main office.  All team shirts and outfits must be approved by Mr. Connolley or Dr. Leardi. It’s $30 per team to sign up and if you win there are cash prizes!  

 

Come by room 254 with your i.d. to pick up your Spring Supplement for the 2016-2017 Capitoline Yearbook.

 

Bring your check, money order or cash to room 254 to order the 2017-2018 yearbook.

 

Seniors, Call  Grussenmeyer Photography. at 787-6688 to schedule to have your portraits taken.  Bring your baby picture and the $10 fee to room 254, if you want it in this year's yearbook

 

9th, 10th and 11th graders need to bring a calculator and pencils for the practice tests on November 15th. 9th and 10th graders should bring a book to read on that day as well.

Attention seniors: The Skelton scholarship has been added to the scholarship database. This is an annual award where applications will be accepted each year for a renewable opportunity. Scholarships are awarded based on financial need, academic achievement, and involvement. Scholarships due by March 1st. See Mrs. Lauer for details!
