Good morning Springfield High! Today is Friday, December 1, 2017.

Attention: All 10th and 11th graders. If you haven’t taken Behind the Wheel and would like to do so, please stop by Room 128 and see Ms Dvorak at the beginning of your lunch shift.

"Hey, it's ugly sweater season! Join student council every Friday before break by wearing your favorite holiday appeal!!"

Seniors interested in the Senate Page Program must complete an application. Applications are in the guidance office on Yellow Paper. Applications are due to Mrs. Devlin or Mr. Schurman by December 5th. We will not accept any late applications.

Attention SHS! Counting down the days until Christmas? Let German Club help you and sweeten up the long days of waiting. We are selling German Advent calendars filled with fine German chocolate for $4 each. If you would like to purchase one or more for you, your family or friends, please talk to a German Club student or to Herrn Koeppel in room 250. But hurry, there is only a limited number of calendars available.

For all freshmen football players who have still not turned in football equipment Coach Kramer will be having the 2nd collection day today right after school in the weight room. Anyone who plays a winter sport will be given priority so they can get to practice on time. 

Capitoline Yearbooks are on sale for $60 a copy.  In January, the cost rises to $70.  

Seniors, - Baby pictures for the yearbook are due by December 15th.  Also, call Grussenmeyer Photography at 787-6688 to schedule a time to have your senior portraits taken. Seniors, with portraits, can also put their "Senior Quotes"  in the yearbook at no charge. 

Come have a yummy, warm breakfast before heading out to finish your holiday shopping and help support GAPP at same time. Applebee's Flapjack Fundraiser Saturday, December 9th, 8 am-10 am, 2554 Sunrise Drive (east side location).  Pancakes, bacon and a drink only $5.  Buy your ticket now from a GAPP student or buy at door.  See you there!

6 SHS students are in the Springfield Ballet Company’s performance of the Nutcracker at Csangamon Auditorium this year.  Shows are at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 9th and 2:00 p.m. December 10th.

Attention Seniors - Last day to order cap and gown is December 13th — Jostens will be in the commons during both lunch shifts.

The Lady Senator basketball team had a strong third quarter and beat Decatur MacArthur 80-32. SHS had 4 girls in double figures led by Devyn Heard with 15 points, Ozzy Erewele added 13 and Abby Ratsch and Ta’Mya Dumas each chipped in 10. SHS plays at Normal U-High on Saturday.
