Good morning Springfield High! Today is Wednesday, December 6, 2017.

Attention: All 10th and 11th graders. If you haven’t taken Behind the Wheel and would like to do so, please stop by Room 128 and see Ms. Dvorak at the beginning of your lunch shift.

Hey, it's ugly sweater season! Join student council every Friday before break by wearing your favorite holiday appeal!!

Capitoline Yearbooks are on sale for $60 a copy.  In January, the cost rises to $70.  

Seniors, - Baby pictures for the yearbook are due by December 15th.  Also, call Grussenmeyer Photography at 787-6688 to schedule a time to have your senior portraits taken. Seniors, with portraits, can also put their "Senior Quotes"  in the yearbook at no charge. 

Come have a yummy, warm breakfast before heading out to finish your holiday shopping and help support GAPP at same time. Applebee's Flapjack Fundraiser Saturday, December 9th, 8 am-10 am, 2554 Sunrise Drive (east side location).  Pancakes, bacon and a drink only $5.  Buy your ticket now from a GAPP student or buy at door.  See you there!

6 SHS students are in the Springfield Ballet Company’s performance of the Nutcracker at Sangamon Auditorium this year.  Shows are at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 9th and 2:00 p.m. December 10th.

Attention Seniors - Last day to order cap and gown is December 13th — Jostens will be in the commons during both lunch shifts.

Are you 16 years or older,  interested in becoming certified to be a lifeguard, and want to earn a quarter gym credit?  Stop by the guidance office to get information about a lifeguard class at the downtown YMCA every Wednesday between January 10 and March 7.

Attention SHS Photo Video club!  We will be meeting tonight right after school in the commons.

Attention! Attention!  Fall play, The Pink Panther Strikes Again, was a success!  So much so, those who were involved in, or those who had friends in fall play should order DVD copies.  DVDs are $10 each and any questions or orders please talk to Teresa Lograsso.      

PIZZA, PIZZA, PIZZA, THURSDAY THURSDAY, THURSDAY!! Be A Senator will be selling hot, delicious Papa John's Pizza for only $2 a slice tomorrow during both lunch shifts in the Commons. Get yours before its gone! Thank you for supporting Be A Senator!

Pen in a Box club will meet today after school in the commons.  Please be there and bring a friend - it’s not too late to join!

The Lady Senator basketball team won a hard fought game against Quincy Notre Dame 71 to 41. SHS had 4 players in double figures led by Nicole Swehla with 19 points, Devyn Heard had 12, Ashley Robinson chipped in 11 and Ozzy Erewele added 10. Next up for SHS is a game at Lanphier on Thursday.

The relay teams finished 2nd in the 200 Medley and the 200 free relay.  Individually - Lleyton Power finished: 2nd in the 200 Freestyle, 1st in the 100 Breast stroke.  Jerry Freetly finished 2nd in the 200 IM, 1st in the 100 Butterfly.  JJ Rios finished 1st in the 100 Freestyle and Joe Ratsch finished 2nd in the 100 Breaststroke .
