Nurse Kim would like to remind all students & staff that flu season is upon us, and she wants to make sure everyone stays healthy all the time, but especially for finals, and the holidays. Did you hear the joke about the flu?  I’m not telling you, I don’t want to spread it around!  Other than my bad joke, here are a few other ways to prevent spreading it around: Flu shots are still available at most local pharmacies, your physician’s offices, and health department, these are NOT required, but highly recommended.  Also if you have a fever over 100.4 please stay home, always remember to cough into your elbow rather than your hand, and the most effective way of preventing the flu is frequent hand washing!

We are still looking for a few more Senate Page applicants. If you are interested in applying see Mrs. Devlin in room 121 during your lunch shift.

"¡Atención Spanish Club! Please don't forget to order your Spanish Club T-shirt today. You can order the shirt through google classroom, but you have to pay either Mr. Reichert, Mrs. Armstrong, or Mrs. Hopper. Please see a Spanish teacher for more details.”

Attention seniors -  Have you checked the scholarship database lately? There are currently more than 75 scholarships available! Simply go to the guidance page on the SHS website and select “scholarship database” or see Mrs. Lauer for details or with questions!

Attention seniors attending Lincoln Land Community College next year: LLCC’s scholarship page is now open. There is only ONE application for all the scholarships. Deadline to apply is March 1, 2018. Go to  http://llccfoundation.org/scholarships or see Mrs. Lauer for details or with questions!

If you are good at writing, consider entering the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Essay Competition.  Pick up an informational paper in the main office with the topic and details.  Essays are due on December 29, and you could win $100, $200 or $700!

The 2nd Quarter Acknowledgement is now posted outside the guidance office. Please stop by to see if you made the list! Students who did not receive any referrals or tardies during 2nd Quarter are eligible for a treat during both lunch shifts in the Commons today. Thank you for being a Senator!!

Would you please now rise for the Pledge of Allegiance!

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, Indivisible with liberty and justice for all.
