Announcements 12/18

December 18, 2017

Good morning Springfield High! Today is Monday, December 18, 2017.

Capitoline Yearbooks are on sale for $60 a copy.  In January, the cost rises to $70.

We remind you that we follow the final exam schedule beginning tomorrow, you can check it online or ask a teacher if you need help reading it.  Tomorrow you take exam periods 2,6 and 7 and we remind you to study tonight and get the A.  There are no early dismissals during final exams, do not text anyone to come and get you or call you out as you must stay for the entire exam period.

Seniors - If you have completed and returned  a signed exemption form for semester I finals,  your parent/ guardians are not required to call you out to be excused.

We are still looking for a few more Senate Page applicants. If you are interested in applying see Mrs. Devlin in room 121 during your lunch shift.

Attention seniors -  Have you checked the scholarship database lately? There are currently more than 75 scholarships available! Simply go to the guidance page on the SHS website and select “scholarship database” or see Mrs. Lauer for details or with questions!

Attention seniors attending Lincoln Land Community College next year: LLCC’s scholarship page is now open. There is only ONE application for all the scholarships. Deadline to apply is March 1, 2018. Go to  http://llccfoundation.org/scholarships or see Mrs. Lauer for details or with questions!

If you are good at writing, consider entering the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Essay Competition.  Pick up an informational paper in the main office with the topic and details.  Essays are due on December 29, and you could win $100, $200 or $700!

There will be no wrestling practice tonight.

Wondering about the post-it notes — well wonder no more.  Be A Senator would like to start your finals week off on a positive note.  Reminder:  kindness counts.

Would you please now rise for the Pledge of Allegiance!

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, Indivisible with liberty and justice for all.
