Good morning Springfield High! Today is Tuesday, January 9, 2018.

Have you ever been interested in Graphic Design? If so, join us at the Graphic Design Club meeting tomorrow in the Commons right after school.  See you at 2:30 in the Commons.

Attention juniors and seniors: The army recruiters will be making a presentation on Wednesday, January 17th from 2:17-3:00 pm in room 150 . If you are interested in learning more about the military please sign up outside the post secondary office or see Mrs. Lauer for details. 

FREE 5-week ACT Prep Class for 10th & 11th graders!!  The class will be facilitated by Lincoln Land Community College staff. If you are interested, please sign-up in the Guidance Office during lunch, before school or after school-in the Guidance Office by 3:30 pm on January 12th. Please sign-up ASAP because we will have a screening process for a limited number of seats!  Any questions-please see Mr. Williams.

FREE T-SHIRTS FOR BLOOD DONORS!!  Staff & Students 16 or older can donate blood to the Central Illinois Community Blood Center on Tue., Jan. 16, 8:30am-2 pm, in the Auditorium. Students aged 16 must have a signed parental consent form. You must sign up during lunch-in the Commons, and before school or after school-in the Guidance Office by 3:30 pm on Jan. 12. Please sign-up ASAP because once the form is filled, you will not be able to sign up. Teachers & Staff do not need to sign up, you can report to the Auditorium at your convenience. Blood donations SAVE LIVES!  Any questions-please see Mr. Williams.

Calling all those who just can't stand still.  All dancers, singers, and actors:  come and try out for SHS's spring Musical "Footloose".  Auditions are January 30th from 4 pm - 8 pm and callbacks are on February 1st.  Audition forms and other information are online.  Look at the SHS homepage and to the right there is a link to follow to get to most of the information and the audition form.  More information will be given throughout, so continue to visit that link.  If you have further questions or problems signing up, see Mr. Schoppenhorst.

There will be an informational meeting for all boys and girls interested in competing for the track and field teams tomorrow right after school in the commons. Please stop by, sign up and get season info from Coach Cotner. Practice begins on January 22nd. You must have a current physical and athletic permit card on file in the main office in order to participate. Also all 1st semester grades will be checked to determine eligibility for the season!

Attention Prospective Baseball Players- Open gym winter workouts will resume tonight from 6 to 7:30. Meet in the annex and bring a bat and glove.

The SHS Photo Video club will be meeting tomorrow right after school in the commons. See you there!

PIZZA, PIZZA, PIZZA!! THURSDAY, THURSDAY, THURSDAY!! The Be A Senator Team will be selling hot, delicious Papa John's Pizza this Thursday during both lunch shifts in the Commons. Only $2 per slice, what a deal!! Thanks for Being a Senator!

Attention seniors: The Community Foundation Land of Lincoln scholarships for 2018 are now available. Transcripts are required, as noted on each application. Hey class of 2018! Do you want to help out with your final prom? Then I've got the thing for you. In the Guidance Office, there is a sign-up sheet for prom committees. There is a wide range of committees to join from food to decorations, so come sign up to ensure that we have the best prom ever!

City spirit week themes are Tuesday- Jersey vs. Jersey day; Wednesday- Meme day; Thursday- Duo day, and Friday is Superhero day!!
