FREE T-SHIRTS FOR BLOOD DONORS!! Staff & Students 16 or older can donate blood to the Central Illinois Community Blood Center on Tue., Jan. 16, 8:30am-2 pm, in the Auditorium. Students aged 16 must have a signed parental consent form. You must sign up during lunch-in the Commons, and before school or after school-in the Guidance Office by 3:30 pm today. Please sign-up ASAP because once the form is filled, you will not be able to sign up. Teachers & Staff do not need to sign up, you can report to the Auditorium at your convenience. Calling all those who just can't stand still. All dancers, singers, and actors: come and try out for SHS's spring Musical "Footloose". Auditions are January 30th from 4 pm - 8 pm and callbacks are on February 1st. Audition forms and other information are online. Look at the SHS homepage and to the right there is a link to follow to get to most of the information and the audition form. More information will be given throughout, so continue to visit that link. The Public Information Sessions for Springfield Area high school students interested in applying for the Sister Cities Association of Springfield (SCAS) student exchange in Ashikaga, Japan will be held on Wednesday, January 25 and Monday, February 12. Each session will be at 7:00 PM in the Board Room of the Springfield District 186 Administrative Center, 1900 West Monroe Street, Springfield, IL 62704 (next to Grant Middle School, across from Fairhills Mall).

Do you know any kids ages 4-14 that love to dance?! Tell them about the Scarlet Line Dance Camp on Saturday February 3rd. The cost is $35.00 and they will receive a t-shirt and perform at a Varsity game that night! They can find the camp form on the Scarlet Line Facebook page or the SHS website. All camp forms and fees are due by January 26th. Don't forget to come cheer on the kids and our basketball team as they play against Decatur Eisenhower.
The Lady Senator basketball team jumped out to an early lead and beat Decatur Eisenhower 78 to 27. SHS was led by Devyn Heard with 17 points, Ozzy Erewele, Abby Ratsch and Maya Fetter each scored 13. Next up for SHS is a game tomorrow against Rochester with the varsity game starting at 12:30.
Poetry Out Loud will have a meeting in 370 Tuesday after school.
