Freshman, Sophomore and Juniors please make sure your lab fees get paid, after June 11th these fees will sent to collections. You may pay these in the Main Office to Ms. Madonna. If you need to see if you have any outstanding lab fees, please come to the main office before school, during lunch or after school.
Bring your i.d. and pick up your yearbook this week on both lunches.
Attention Juniors: Do you have questions about when you should start applying to colleges, how to find the right college, the different types of admission processes, how to fill out applications, how many colleges to apply to, and what to do before your senior year? If so, please see Mrs. Lauer’s post secondary presentation next Wednesday, May 16th from 2:30-3:30pm in the commons! Any questions, see Mrs. Lauer in the post secondary office!
Juniors - you should be receiving a flyer with information regarding the new Solar Energy Course 435 to be offered next school year. This is a course co-taught by a local Electrical Workers Union member. If you are interested in a career as an electrician with a focus on solar energy please see Mr. Williams for more information. There will be an informational meeting on May 14.
Attention! All those participating in peach fuzz need to have their permission slip and money turned in by today. If not enough slips are turned in for a tournament, peach fuzz will be cancelled. Turn the permission slips in to Mrs. Kaisner or Mrs Devlin. Peach fuzz is this Friday at 7:00 in the gym.”
Summer school registration is June 15th from 7:30 - 5:30 at SHS. Registration forms are available in the guidance office.

For Junior Students-Are you interested in becoming a teacher? UIS is offering a Dual Credit teacher education class for Senior year. For more information, sign up in the Guidance Office or see Mr. Williams ASAP. Sign-ups are on a first-come-first-serve basis.
The Scholastic Bowl End of the Year Banquet will be Monday May 21st at the Pizza Ranch. Please RSVP to Coach Teichman. All team members should see Drew or Aidan regarding senior gifts.
Free t-shirts for blood donors!!!! Staff & Students 16 or older can donate blood to the Central Illinois Community Blood Center on Tue., May 15, 8:30am-2 pm, in the Bloodmobile outside of the Commons. Students aged 16 must have a signed parental consent form. You must sign up during lunch-in the Commons, and before school or after school-in the Guidance Office by 3:30 pm on Friday. Please sign-up ASAP because once the form is filled, you will not be able to sign up. Teachers & Staff do not need to sign up, you can report to the Bloodmobile at your convenience. Golden Laurel tickets are available to purchase in the main office. The cost is $12.50 per ticket. These may be bought before school, at lunch or after school.

Need service hours for school projects or community service - junior volunteers are needed for Lincoln Land Championship. Junior volunteers aged 14-18 can register for free at web.com and use the code JUNIOR2018. You will act as Standard Bearers during the tournament. You will get inside-the-ropes experience with leading Web.com Tour players. You will be on the greens with pro golfers from around the world. You might be in photos and video of final play. The choir concert is Friday, May 18th at 7pm at SHS.
The Fresh/Soph boys Track and field team placed 2nd overall at last nights Fresh/Soph Open at Lanphier! Event champions for SHS were: Matthew Abe-Bell in the 100 and 400, and the 4x800 relay team of Ben Kim, Ankeith Guntupalli, Ian Kaisner and Grant Thompson. Great job boys!
The SHS Baseball Team played one of its better games in shutting out the Lions of Lanphier 13 to nothing in 5 innings. Will Reiser was the star of the game in pitching the whole way with 7 strikeouts while allowing only 2 hits. He also had 2 doubles and 4 RBI’s. He wasn’t the Lone Ranger though, as Jimmy Hollahan and Jacks Hyde also added 2 hits. The Solons have a chance to tie for second in City play today, weather permitting, in a 7p.m. rematch with LHS today.
The Lady Senator softball team shrugged off a slow start to top Lanphier 12-1 in 5 innings last night. Kira Brown, Jaden Long and Lauren Cozadd all had hits and RBI's to lead the way. Maddie Cleary recorded her 12th win of the year striking out 5 girls. Keep it going tonight, girls!
INSession Show Choir Auditions are open to all SHS students and incoming freshmen. Auditions dates will be Wednesday, May 23rd from 3:30pm – 8:30pm; Thursday, May from 5:30pm - 8pm
