Attention seniors: If you have not yet turned in your “Class of 2018 Senior Exit Survey” to Mrs. Lauer in the post secondary office, please do so ASAP! She will be calling down students who are yet to turn theirs in!
Attention SHS, the BAS team will be hosting "Lunch on the Lawn" Friday! The criteria is NO referrals and NO tardies for 4th Quarter. Please do your best to get to class on time and act like Senator everyday! Invitations will be passed out next week!
Freshman, Sophomore and Juniors please make sure your lab fees get paid, after June 11th these fees will sent to collections. You may pay these in the Main Office to Ms. Madonna. If you need to see if you have any outstanding lab fees, please come to the main office before school, during lunch or after school.
Attention Juniors: Do you have questions about when you should start applying to colleges, how to find the right college, the different types of admission processes, how to fill out applications, how many colleges to apply to, and what to do before your senior year? The Scholastic Bowl End of the Year Banquet will be Monday, May 21st at the Pizza Ranch. Please RSVP to Coach Teichman. All team members should see Drew or Aidan regarding senior gifts.
Free t-shirts for blood donors!!!! Staff & Students 16 or older can donate blood to the Central Illinois Community Blood Center tomorrow from 8:30am-2 pm, in the Bloodmobile outside of the Commons. Students aged 16 must have a signed parental consent form. Any questions, please see Mr. Williams.
Anyone interested in joining the volleyball team for next year, there will be a parent/player meeting in the Commons on May 21st at 6:00 pm
The choir concert is Friday at 7pm at SHS.

The SHS Photo Video Club will be having its end of the year meeting this Wednesday right after school in the commons. All members are encouraged to come and we will be discussing this year's projects along with next years.
Congratulations to the Springfield High School Varsity Boys Tennis Team for finishing second in the CS-8 Conference Tournament at Washington Park over the weekend. In singles, Raj Sinha finished second after a hard fought three-set match against the top seed while Shaul Latif came back on day two to finish fifth. Matu Kristos/David Jiang had a strong showing in doubles competition with a fourth place finish. The tandem of Eric Martin/Brian Becker also earned two victories over the weekend.
The baseball team stayed on its roll as it won 2 out of 3 over the weekend with an 11 to 4 win over Taylorville on Friday and a 4 to nothing shutout over Granite City in game one Saturday before taking a tough 11 to one loss to end a four game winning streak. Stars of the weekend included Adam Passmore who threw a complete game shutout Saturday allowing only 4 hits while collecting 3 of his own including a double. Will Reiser was also 3 for 3. Lucas Rockford was the player of the game against Taylorville when he had 4 hits in 4 at bats while Isaac Becker threw a strong 4 and two thirds innings allowing no earned runs for the pitching win. Next up is Senior Night today at 4:30 against Pawnee at Lincoln Land’s main diamond.
The SHS boys track and field team placed 2nd in the Central State Eight Conference meet on Friday night. 1st place finishers earning all conference honors were: Robert Williams in the 110 Hurdles, and the 300 hurdles; and the 4x400 relay team of Robert Williams, Will Formea, Ryan Waldinger and Matthew Abe-Bell. Tyrone Treadwell also earned all conference honors in the 110 Hurdles. The boys next compete on Friday at the Belleville West Sectional.
Need service hours for school projects or community service - junior volunteers are needed for Lincoln Land Championship. Junior volunteers aged 14-18 can register for free at web.com and use the code JUNIOR2018. You will act as Standard Bearers during the tournament. You will get inside-the-ropes experience with leading Web.com Tour players. You will be on the greens with pro golfers from around the world. You might be in photos and video of final play.
