Good morning Springfield High! Today is Friday, September 7, 2018.

Ninth grade students who are interested in applying for the P4 physicians preparatory pipeline program need to stop by the guidance office to pick the application information sheet.   The application deadline is September 25th.

Senior Photo Information - Seniors and early graduates are required to have their official picture taken by Grussenmeyer’s Photography.  The photo must be taken by December 15, 2018.  Grussenmeyer’s is located at 41 Pinehurst drive, 787-6688 and requires a $15 sitting fee with no pressure to make additional purchases.  This year, we encourage all seniors to have their portrait taken at school.  Grussenmeyer’s will be at SHS for senior pictures on:

Wednesday, September 12th from 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm in the cafeteria
Wednesday, September 19th from 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm
Friday, September 21st from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm (no school for students that day)
Friday, October 26th from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm (no school for students that day)

Seniors may also call Grussenmeyer’s at 787-6688 to arrange custom sittings or another time and date that works with their schedule.

Atención! All are welcome to join Spanish Club for as little as $5. Spanish Club members can enjoy fun activities like the back to school fiesta, watching movies in Spanish, the International Dinner, paintball, capture the flag, bowling, dinner at a Mexican restaurant, and more!  For information on joining, please see Señor Reichert, Señora Armstrong, or Señora Hopper.

The 2018-2019 Capitoline Yearbook is on sale now in room 254 at a cost of $60 each.  To order yours, bring your check, money order or cash to room 254.  In January, the cost for each will be $70.  Seniors the cost to put your baby picture in this year's yearbook is $10.  Bring your picture and the $10 fee to room 254.

Any junior or senior interested in being a High School Student Poll Worker for election day, please see Mr. Kyes in the guidance office for an application. 

First Sign Club Meeting is after school on Monday, September 10th from 3:30-4:30.  If you are interested, please come and find out what Sign Club is all about.  All skill levels are welcome. Meet in Rm. 362

All juniors interested in taking the PSAT/NMSQT on Wednesday, October 10th, should bring $18 to the guidance office to sign up by Tuesday, September 11th.  If you have any questions, please see Ms. Smith or Mr. Barnes.

Atención Spanish Club! If you are interested in attending the Spanish Club Kick-off Fiesta, please come to room 260 after school today. We hope to see you there!

Any student interested in Scholastic Bowl should meet Coach Teichman in the Science wing on Thursday Sept 13 at 3:20 for first round tryouts. Contact Teichman if you cannot attend.  A parent meeting will be held on September 13 at 5:30 in the Library for Scholastic Bowl.

Support the class of 2019’s prom efforts and have dinner at Chipotle next Tuesday sept 11 from 4-8.  A portion of proceeds will be donated to Tuesday’s Children an organization that provides assistance to 9/11 families and first responders. Come out and show your Solon spirit.

The Girls Golf team won an exciting triangular match last night at the Rail defeating Williamsville and Pana.  Junior Kylie Fair drained a 50 foot birdie putt on her final hole to share medalist honors, finishing with a 4 over par 40.  The outcome of the match was still in doubt until junior Ella Hurrelbrink turned in a personal best round of 45, giving the Senators a team score of 185 which was 3 strokes better than Williamsville.  Freshman Kayla Adkins and Junior Jackie Romer rounded out the team scoring for SHS.
