Senior Photo Information - Seniors and early graduates are required to have their official picture taken by Grussenmeyer’s Photography. The photo must be taken by December 15, 2018. Grussenmeyer’s is located at 41 Pinehurst drive, 787-6688 and requires a $15 sitting fee with no pressure to make additional purchases. This year, we encourage all seniors to have their portrait taken at school. Grussenmeyer’s will be at SHS for senior pictures on Friday, October 26th from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm (no school for students that day). Seniors may also call Grussenmeyer’s at 787-6688 to arrange custom sittings or another time and date that works with their schedule.
Any junior or senior interested in being a High School Student Poll Worker for election day, please see Mr. Kyes in the guidance office for an application.
The 2018-2019 Capitoline Yearbook is on sale now in room 254 at a cost of $60 each. To order yours, bring your check, money order or cash to room 254. In January, the cost for each will be $70. Seniors the cost to put your baby pictures in this year's yearbook is $10. Bring your pictures and the $10 fees to room 254. Also, Senior Superlatives' Nomination Forms are due to Tayli Shekleton or Mrs. Eslahi by October 1.
If you plan to bring a guest who is not a Springfield High School student to homecoming, you must pick up a guest form in the guidance office.
Attention Sophomore Class - The class of 2021 will be selling baked goods (rice krispy treats, cookies, and brownies) at tailgate tomorrow night. Please bring donations to Mrs. Devlin's room 121.
Juniors & Seniors interested in attending the Capital Area Education/College Fair at the State Fair-Orr Building on Wednesday, October 3rd will be receiving a permission slip in their English classes. If not, stop by the Guidance Office. Students will leave school at 11:57 pm or after 4th period. In order for this to be coded as an activity, students must have turned insSigned permission slips by Monday, October 1st, 3:30 pm-no exceptions. Students check in with their Guidance Dean at the Orr Building. STUDENTS MUST BE PASSING ALL CLASSES TO ATTEND.
ATTENTION PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE MEMBERS OF FCA! The Fellowship of Christian Athletes will be having our first huddle meeting of the year next Tuesday, Oct. 2 from 6:00-7:00 in the Cafeteria. We will be brainstorming activities and meeting times for the upcoming year… and having some pizza. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Lightfoot of Mr. Dyer.
Art Club will meet today at 3:30 in room 233. Please bring your $5 dues if you have not already.
Students 21st Century has started back and runs Monday-Thursday after school in the cafeteria. 21st Century is an after school program where students can come and receive tutoring, help with homework, a snack , and we also attend many fun field trips. Applications are located in the Guidance office or on the 21st Century door.
Are you are a first generation college bound junior or senior? Unsure if college is for you? Interested in getting more information about different college options, basic services offered to students or help interpreting college expectations and requirements? If so, please see Mrs. Lauer in the guidance office. Eligible students may attend a presentation and tour through the College Prep Summit at Lincoln Land on November 16th.
The next Feminist Club meeting will be held after school until 4:00 in Ms. Moon’s room, room 364, on 10/4. All are welcome!
The Girl’s Golf Team finished 3rd at the CS8 tournament yesterday at ISU. Junior Kylie Fair carded an 88 which was good enough for an 8th place finish individually earning her all-conference honors. The team will look to advance from regionals for the second straight year next Wednesday at the U of I Orange Course.
Football Spirit orders are in. You may pick up your order in Coach Gully’s room 124 during either lunch shift today or tomorrow. He will not be able to hand out orders after school so please come during lunch.
