Good morning Springfield High! Today is Tuesday, April 9, 2019

Prom tickets will go on sale tomorrow through Friday during lunch in the Commons.  Ticket costs are $25 per person and $40 per couple - they will be the same price at the door.

Junior Students - Are you interested in becoming a teacher? UIS is offering a Dual Credit teacher education class for Senior year. For more information, sign up in the Guidance Office or see Mr. Kyes ASAP. Sign-ups are on a first-come-first-served basis. 

Attention Juniors: The Board of Education invites interested current high school juniors to apply to become the 2019-2020 Student School Board Member. One junior will be chosen to serve during their senior year. Applications will be accepted until 4:00 pm Friday and can be found on our school’s homepage. Please see Mr. Kyes or Mrs. Gordy if you are interested in applying. 

Signing day will be April 29th at 3:30 pm in the Commons.  Please see Mr. Connolley for information.

Capitoline Yearbooks are still on sale at $70 a copy.  If you don't have the full amount, you can pay a portion to secure a yearbook for you.  Make your check or money order out to Springfield High School or bring your cash to room 254

The Investment club will meet in room 124 from 2:30-3:30 tomorrow.

There will be tutoring on Thursday.

Any girls interested in playing volleyball next year, there will be an information meeting and sign-up in the cafeteria tomorrow at 2:30 pm.

Take a trip with us to Chicago to see Hamlet on April 30th.  See your English teacher for more information.

The class of 2022 is now selling long sleeves and jogger sweatpants. Long sleeves are $15 and the Joggers are $25. Forms are due tomorrow. Please see a class officer if you’d like one.

The Varsity competed in the Bloomington Invitational this past weekend, which featured several top schools from the area.  The team placed sixth out of 18 teams and performed extremely well.  Raj Sinha finished third at first singles while Eric Martin finished fifth at second singles.  Brian Becker and David Jiang also finished fifth at first doubles.  The Junior Varsity competed against Rochester yesterday and claimed a 19-8 victory.  Manu Montalvo, Adrian Russo, Miles Wilson, Aydin Lane and Jatin Dhamrait cruised to victories at singles.  In doubles action, the pairs of Rico Wortman/Reece Fullerton, Judah Schleyhan/Keegan Goswami, Diego Llosa/Dae-Cheon Pippin and Spencer Cochran/Aaron Halloway claimed multiple victories.  The teams of Ethan Stott/Carter Lyddon, Alec Breneman/Aidan McParland, Kai Brudnak/Sam Yoder, David Ye/Manu Montalvo, JT First/Kai Brudnak and Alec Breneman/Gavin Hinson also were victorious.
