The Springfield High School Split-Squad Junior Varsity Boys Tennis Team competed against Sacred Heart-Griffin last Friday, finishing 12-11.  At singles, Jatin Dhamrait, Dae-Cheon Pippin, Diego Llosa, Kai Brudnak, Justin Nwajei, Sam Yoder and Aidan McParland were victorious.  The doubles teams of Dae-Cheon Pippin/Jatin Dhamrait, Aaron Halloway/Justin Nwajei, Vedant Amin/Aidan McParland, Ethan Sommer/Gavin Hinson and Canon Stearns/Elliott Maher also posted victories.

The baseball team made a strong comeback Saturday from a 5 to1 deficit to take a 6 to 5 lead into the 6th inning when Granite City used a big inning of their own to take a commanding lead and finish with the win over the Senators by an 11 to 6 score. Zach Richmond led the offense with 2 hits, while Jack Zerfas reached base 3 times, stole 3 bases, and drove in a run while Cainan Squibb added a big 2-run single to help the cause. On the mound, Noah Turley, Isaac Becker, and Aaron Evans all threw well, but the Warrior offense was too much to overcome. Next up is City play tomorrow against Southeast at 6:45 at Lanphier Park.
