Senior surveys are now being distributed! If you want to have your memories published in the Senior Issue of the Newspaper, please see a senior staffer or Ms. Negele in room 362 for the survey. All answers must be school appropriate! This is a fun way for you seniors to immortalize your best (and worst) high school moments… so pick up your survey and join the party! Surveys must be turned in to Ms. Negele or a staffer by the end of day tomorrow.
FREE T-SHIRTS FOR BLOOD DONORS!! Staff & Students 16 or older can donate blood to the Central Illinois Community Blood Center on Tuesday, May 7th, 8:30 am-2:00 pm, in the Bloodmobile (to be accessed thru the Commons). Students aged 16 must have a signed parental consent form. You must sign up during lunch in the Commons, before school or after school in the Guidance Office by 3:30 pm on Friday, May 3rd. Please sign-up ASAP because once the form is filled, you will not be able to sign up. Teachers & Staff do not need to sign up, you can report to the Bloodmobile at your convenience. Capitoline Yearbooks are still on sale at $70 a copy. If you don't have the full amount, you can pay a portion to secure a yearbook for you. Make your check or money order out to Springfield High School or bring your cash to room 254.

Class of 2019, teachers and administrators! Some of you have been selected to represent the senior class in a commemorative video. You will have a few seconds to say something you'll miss or any favorite memories regarding the senior class. Selected individuals are posted on the display case, outside the main office. Filming will take place after school Thursday in the library. Come prepared.

The SHS boys track and field team placed 9th out of 20 Teams at the Mount Prospect Invite on Friday. Top Finishers for SHS were: Matthew Abe-Bell 4th in the 100 and 400; Robert Williams 1st in the 110 Hurdles; Ryan Waldinger 3rd in the 300 hurdles; and Qa’Ron Hawkins 1st in the triple jump. The boys next compete at the City Track and Field meet Tuesday at Lanphier.
The baseball team ran into a tough group from Washington Friday night when they lost 2 games by the scores of 4 to nothing and 9 to 2. The SHS highlights included a strong pitching outing by Joseph Crum who threw 5 solid innings in game one, allowing only 2 earned runs. Adam Passmore, Ben Hartl, and Marc Black each had 2 hit games in the doubleheader. Next up is a 4:30 contest against Glenwood tomorrow at their place.
Congratulations to the first annual Ultimate Frisbee Champions - The CABT team including Will Formea, Ethan Doyle, Raj Sinha, Alex Stratton, Cavin Armour, Ryan Waldinger and Jack Zerfas. A shout out to Katie and the Boys for a strong finish. Thanks to all the fans who showed up to support their team.
