The SHS graduation is June 1, 5:00 p.m. at the BOS Center. Please allow extra time and arrive early - parking, entry procedures and crowds may slow your arrival. There will be NO ENTRY to the BOS Center 30 minutes after the beginning of each graduation ceremony. Metal Detectors will be used to ensure the safety of all guests and graduates prior to entering the BOS Center for the graduation ceremony. Purses, bags and other personal items will be subject to search. No weapons of any kind including pocket knives and mace/pepper spray will be allowed in the BOS Center. The Springfield Police Department will be at the BOS Center to assist with this process.
Attention all students! Tomorrow is Be A Senator's 2nd Annual Lunch on the Lawn! Any student who has NO referrals and NO tardies for 4th Quarter will be invited during lunch to go outside and enjoy a free lunch! We want to celebrate students for behaving like SENATORS!! Your invitation will be sent to you today!!! Thanks for Being a Senator!!
Seniors if you have not turned in the green exit survey to Mr Kramer please do so ASAP. Be sure to include any scholarships you received on the back, even from schools you will not be attending. Also be sure to do a little pennant for the map and Mr. Kramer will get one up on your locker.

Any student that is NOT currently in choir this year but would like to be in choir next year, auditions will be tonight right after school. Individual auditions will last approximately 5 minutes each and you are free to leave afterwards. Come sign up outside the choir room door or see Mrs. Pinter with any questions!

Just a reminder, auditions for the 2019-2020 Award-winning IN Session showchoir will be held tonight starting at 6pm in the commons area. Please make sure you go on to the showchoir webpage listed in the clubs/organizations section on the Springfield high school website to sign up. We are looking for all singers/dancers/ theater people and athletes! Last year, they were named Grand Champions at their last competition, and would like to win more we just NEED YOU...So, come on out and see what IN Session is all about!
Anyone interested in cross country next fall there will be a short meeting after school on Tuesday, May 21st in the commons. If you are out for a spring sport and cannot attend, please see Coach Devlin.
The softball team pulled away for an 8-3 win in Jacksonville last night. Grace Vespa.Claire Bess, Kira Brown and Skyler Wantland led the way with multiple hits! Maggie Beauman, and Jaden Long all contributed with a hit to lead the way. Mallory Vespa notched the pitching win. Good job girls!
The baseball team ran its winning streak to 4 in a row with a 9-nothing win over Jacksonville behind a 2-hit complete game shutout thrown by Joseph Crum. Crum struck out 6 and walked 3 in his 1st varsity win. He had plenty of offensive support from Will Reiser who had 3 hits, including a double and an RBI to go with 2 hits from Luke Flesner who scored 3 times and added a long triple. Ben Hartl contributed 2 RBI's to the cause, as SHS finished 5th in the CS8 with an 11 and 7 mark. Next up is a doubleheader Friday against Limestone at Lincoln Land's Claude Kracik Field starting at 4:30.
The girls soccer team advanced to the regional championship with an 8-0 victory over MacArthur. Scoring for the Senators was Maria Jorquera, Cadence Brenham, Sophia Eves, Tayli Shekleton, Sofia Baptist, McKenna Lambert and Elizabeth Barkley. Melanie McKeown recorded the shut-out. The Senators will play Friday 6pm at Lee Field for the Regional Championship.
