The SHS graduation is June 1, 5:00 p.m. at the BOS Center. Please allow extra time and arrive early - parking, entry procedures and crowds may slow your arrival. There will be NO ENTRY to the BOS Center 30 minutes after the beginning of each graduation ceremony. Metal Detectors will be used to ensure the safety of all guests and graduates prior to entering the BOS Center for the graduation ceremony. Purses, bags and other personal items will be subject to search. No weapons of any kind including pocket knives and mace/pepper spray will be allowed in the BOS Center. The Springfield Police Department will be at the BOS Center to assist with this process.
The library will be closed during lunch shifts during finals.
Seniors there were a few senior items found in the auditorium after senior recognition night - we have 2 tassels and 1 stash. If these are yours please come and claim them in the main office.
If you are not currently in PE don’t forget to clean out your PE locker. Anything left behind will be thrown away.
Congratulations to Senator Zaire Harris for being named Student of the Year! Zaire is the recipient of the $10,000 Community Foundation for the Land of Lincoln Scholarship. Zaire won the award for his scholastic achievement, leadership and community involvement. Zaire will attend Creighton University next year. Senator pride and congrats to runner up Raj Sinha, who will attend the University of Michigan next year. Great job, Zaire and Raj. Congrats to all of our seniors who won CFLL scholarships: Abby Milhiser, Erin Gheen, Will Reiser, Cam Jones, Pierre Flournay, Alexander Dickerson, and Adaeze Onyewuchi.
Please welcome Ms. Nicole Moon as the new yearbook adviser. She is currently looking to interview highly motivated students who will be seniors and juniors next school year. Please see her in room 364 for questions and interviews.
Yearbooks are in. Bring your i.d. and pick yours up in room 254. Capitoline Yearbooks are still on sale at $70 a copy. Make your check or money order out to Springfield High School or bring your cash to room 254.
If you were unable to attend the drama club meeting and are interested in participating please pick up an info packet in the main office and return to room 366.
Seniors Eric Martin and Raj Sinha, and sophomores Brian Becker, Zeke Cross and David Jiang qualified for and competed at State this past weekend. Springfield High School placed 12th out of 64 teams at the State Tournament. Zeke Cross finished 0-2 at singles with two hard fought losses against tough opponents. The doubles team of Eric Martin/Raj Sinha received a 9-16 seed and finished 3-2 placing in the top 16. The tandem of Brian Becker/David Jiang finished 3-2 placing in the top 24. Both pairs lost only to seeded teams. Great job by everyone and congratulations to the entire SHS Boys Tennis Team on an outstanding season!
Seniors! Due to a disappointing amount of purchases, the last day to order senior video DVDs is today. Please find Dayton Emery to order yours for $10 a copy. He will be also be in Stapleton's classroom after school, for this occasion. Dayton has not placed you on the list for DVDs if you have not ordered or talked with him directly. If you dont have money today that's fine, still talk with him. Thanks!
Congrats to the girls soccer team on their sectional win. Come out tonight at 6pm and watch the girls play for the super sectional title.

The SHS Scholastic Bowl team traveled all the way to Atlanta, Georgia over the Memorial Day weekend to compete in two tournaments. Friday evening the Senators took part in the ACRONYM 12 tournament which is a pop culture tournament. Drew Borland placed 8th overall placing him on the All Tournament team for the 2nd year in row! Congratulations to the team for placing THIRD out of the 62 participating teams.
The academic aspect of the weekend began for the Senators early Saturday morning and concluded Sunday afternoon. The team’s preliminary record was 5-5, placing them in the consolation bracket where they finished 3-1. We are so proud of you!!! Special thanks to the Boosters for their support!
