The Mission and Vision of Springfield High School
SHS MISSION: The mission of Springfield High School is to empower ALL students to find success academically and socially with a life-long sense of responsibility for their own learning and future success. Our students will be among tomorrow’s leaders in what is an ever-changing and complex society.
SHS VISION: All Springfield High School students will be critical thinkers. To achieve this goal we will provide an environment that fosters curiosity and positive exploration by using a variety of teaching strategies that allows for flexibility according to the needs of our students. To engage all stakeholders we will continue to build positive relationships with students, parents and the community.
SHS VALUE STATEMENT: Staff will provide opportunities for students to implement critical thinking skills. Teachers will provide students with opportunities to respond to higher-level questioning through writing and thoughtful discussion.
SHS GOAL STATEMENT: 100% of SHS staff will provide opportunities for students to implement critical thinking skills by using higher-level questioning as evidenced by formal observations of school administrators.
Dress Code Enforcement
DRESS CODE AND TARDY ENFORCEMENT
The Dress Code of Springfield District 186 will be enforced starting the first day of school. Parents are asked to help us by ensuring that your student comes to school in clothing that fits. Sagging and bagging will NOT be allowed. Students may NOT wear clothing with holes. Exposed cleavage or exposed midriffs will not be allowed. Students who do not abide by the school district's dress code will be sent to the administrative intern. They will be allowed to correct their clothing if possible. If not, students will call home for a change of clothes. Students will receive detentions.
Arriving to school and class on time will also be required of all students. Please see that your student is at school on time.
First period begins at 8:24 am. Students are to go to their lockers at 8:15 to get all materials needed for the morning.

FROM NORTH, SOUTH, EAST:
Take Clearlake exit going west; Clearlake becomes Jefferson. Take Jefferson through town to Lewis St.; turn left at Lewis St.; go one block to Washington. The school is on the corner of Lewis and Washington.
FROM WEST:
Take Chatham Rd. to Washington St.; Washington St. east to the school.
