Washington Park, 7:30 AM
Join your Springfield High School classmates for a run, jog or walk through Washington Park to start the day and catch up with friends, show off your athletic abilities and/or burn off a few extra calories.
This run/walk is an untimed informal opportunity to meet up with others and have a good time. The cost is FREE and families are welcome to join the fun!
A special prize will be awarded to the first place finisher in both the men’s and women’s categories!!
The route we will use is shown on the map below. We will start at the picnic/playground area where nearby parking is available. Be sure to bring your own water or sports beverage to stay hydrated as it will likely be warm out!
Other important stuff to know:
• The park is expected to be busy that morning so you will want to get there early. There is another group having a walk-a-thon fundraiser there to benefit the National Kidney Foundation. This is a separate event, so don’t get confused if you see them there too.
• Please plan to arrive no later than 7:15 am to have ample time to park, use the restroom if needed and find the group. We will start at 7:30 am SHARP!
• Please contact Ann Reisch at areisch@earthlink.net if you plan to attend so that we can get an idea of how many people to expect and to properly coordinate our activities with Washington Park officials. Feel free to also contact her with any questions you may have.
• We hope to see you there!!
