On a hot summer day, we set out to learn more about the history of Berlin after WWII, namely the history of communist East Berlin and capitalist West Berlin during and after the Cold War. First we visited the East Side Gallery, the longest still standing part of the Berlin Wall. Then we went to Checkpoint Charlie, one of the most important former border checkpoints, and the wall museum. Our last whole-group activity for the day was the Trabi Safari, a sightseeing tour of places relevant to the topic of today. The evening was again free to experience Berlin.
