TECH 2012 is a not-for-profit initiative supported by a broad range of education and business organizations. Its purpose is two-fold: 1) Raise awareness of the critical role technology plays in preparing students to succeed in today’s world; and 2) to show the need for increased funding for classroom technology.
Since 1990, Illinois students and teachers have taken part in demonstrating and showcasing for elected officials, business leaders and the public how technology is being utilized in schools to enhance learning.
Black Hawk teacher Matt Davis and his class were selected to take part in the annual “TECH 2012: Students for the Information Age” demonstration on Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at the State Capitol Building. Matt and three of his students joined other teams of students and teachers from seventy schools throughout Illinois to demonstrate how they are using iPads in the 1:1 classroom.
