Blogging with Students

If clear expectations are taught and reinforced, blogging can develop and strengthen Students' writing skills. Creating or responding to a blog gives students a real audience which can make the learning task more authentic. In addition, posts should follow classroom expectations of good writing.

Possible Student Created Blogs:
respond to reading
maintain a journal
post reflective entries
a showcase of knowledge for a final project
educate others

Possible Teacher Created Blogs:
communication
community building
a public space for student published work
a meeting space to share thoughts and ideas
stimulate discussion
