iPad classrooms are starting to develop new routines. The beginning of the day might begin with a webpage form or a simple QR code. Daily basic facts practice is enhanced by Math Drills, Baseball Facts or Bubbling Math.

Students are using the Pages file Book Log to record their reading time

Students are using Word Wizard for spelling practice and are creating Keynote slides to create helpful slides to study with. Keynote vocabulary slides contain the word, a photo, a definition and the word used in a sentence.

Some classrooms have used Notes to create an easy to access Idea List on their iPad instead of in the back of their writing notebook. Notes has provided a fast option for creating a storyboard. Students have created stories in Story Patch.

Teachers have discovered the power of Teacher Pal. Students with photos are easily moved into a seating chart and the app allows a teacher to send email quickly to all their students.

The first all school after school inservice is Wednesday, November 9 4:00-6:00 at Black Hawk elementary.
