Million Word Club Readers are rewarded for their hard work!

2 days ago This year, WMS had 99 students were rewarded for being the top readers at WMS. Many of the readers read several million words. Students started the day at Barnes and Noble where they were given a $12.00 gift card that they used to purchase a book of their choice.

Rotary Luncheon

4 days ago The top 40 readers at WMS were honored today at a luncheon hosted by the Springfield Midtown Rotary. Each of these students read more than 1 million words this school year.

Lanphier Band and Show Choir Visit

5 days ago Our 8th Graders enjoyed the Jazz Band, Choir and Drumline! It was exciting to see so many former WMS students!

Students visit the Capital

5 days ago Students went to watch the House in session and to meet our local legislators. We also took a tour of the capitol building.

Track Sectionals

6 days ago The WMS track team did an amazing job at the sectional track meet. The 7th grade girls took 1st place overall and the 8th grade girls took 3rd place overall. This event was hosted at the Southeast High School's track and with many schools in attendance.

Enrichment Tutorial

May 10, 2013 On May 9,2013, Christine Feller from the Office of the Attorney General spoke to students regarding internet safety. This tutorial provided insight into how to stay safe while using the internet.

Illini Caravan Visits WMS Lady Atheletes

May 6, 2013 Women's, U of I Champaign, Tennis Coach and 2 Varsity Swimming Student Atheletes; met with our young ladies and talked about sports and academics. It was very informative and our students had great questions!
