Nov 13, 2018 The PTO meeting for tonight has been canceled. PTO has discussed merging with school funds due to the low membership. Wilcox will still work closely with families to put on our big events, such as Fall Festival and Spring Fling. Dec 20, 2011 Wilcox Students Give Back to the Community! For this holiday season, Wilcox students did a great job of giving back to the community. In November, Wilcox students brought in their change to help “change the world” through gifts to the United Way. The students alone brought in $383.64. The staff at Wilcox raised an extra $998 bringing our total contribution to the United Way to $1,381.64!! Then Wilcox students also participated in a canned food drive for the Salvation Army. Nov 3, 2011 We had a very exciting month in October. The last week of October is Red Ribbon Week, where schools all across the United States teach students about being healthy and the dangers of substance abuse. In SSL lessons, we talked about the dangers of alcohol, drugs and cigarettes. We also stressed the importance of taking medication correctly, which means only taking medicine that is prescribed for us and letting an adult administer the correct dose. READ MORE
Jun 10, 2011 Wilcox Elementary School celebrated our last Check In Check Out graduation for this school year. Congratulations to Bailey Wright, Jacob Spradlin, Robert Humes V, Mason Freitag, Emily Freitag, Jada Brimmer and Alexis Yocum!! Each of these students kept their Check In Check Out percentage at 80% or higher and did not receive any referrals for the last six weeks of school. Keep up the great work in respecting yourself, others and property!
May 18, 2011 The 5th grade students in Mrs. Burton and Mr. Ruyle’s classes completed research projects this week about a famous person. The project began with choosing a person to research and then gathering information using books and the internet. The next step was to use the facts that were gathered to write a first draft of their essay. They used editing and proofreading skills to make their first draft ready for publishing. READ MORE
