What is PBIS?
What is PBIS? PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Intervention Support. It is a system used by our school that supports your children by teaching them appropriate behaviors in school, and recognizes them for following expectations. Celebrating good choices not only is a way to recognize the students who make appropriate choices everyday but it also encourages other students.
Wilcox Elementary has three main behavioral expectations:
- Respect Yourself
- Respect Others
- Respect Property
Wilcox Elementary School believes that high behavior expectations lead to high student achievement. We also believe that managing and teaching correct behaviors leads to better behaviors and academic achievement. However, when students struggle with making good choices, our staff implements several strategies and interventions that support our students and allow them to learn effective behavior.
