Project SCOPE Summer 2015
Updated April 15, 2014
Our school-age Summer SCOPE is to begin on Wednesday, June 3rd and will run through Friday, August 14th. The District has reconsidered our pleas to remain open a week longer, so our last day will now be August 14th!!
We are open at 7 AM and close at 6 PM, Monday through Friday. We will be closed on Friday, July 3rd to observe Independence Day. Our schedule is based around weekly or bi-weekly themes of interest. The children will also enjoy arts and crafts, recreational swimming and many more exciting field trips. Parents should be aware that some field trips may conflict with the District 186 Summer Bridges program (Summer School).
Field trips, a complete breakfast, a nutritionally balanced lunch, and an afternoon snack are included in the weekly fee. Any additional food or activity charges will be noted in the summer weekly newsletter. Transportation for the field trips will be provided by First Student school buses unless it is a "walking" field trip. In addition to the planned field trips, there will be many on-site activities. With an active, fun-loving, yet safety-conscious staff, your child will be anxious for every day to begin at Summer SCOPE.
Summer registration will begin on Friday, February 27th for active, currently enrolled Project SCOPE students. (Summer registration will open to the public on Monday, March 16th.)
Families may inquire about our summer program anytime throughout the summer, but admittance will be based upon whether or not we have any openings in your child's grade level. Please note: we do not allow any students to start summer SCOPE during the last two full weeks of the summer program.
Summer Registration and Fee Information
Active, currently enrolled SCOPE students may register beginning February 27, 2015. Registration forms will be given to you by your SCOPE Lead.
Families that are not enrolled in the SCOPE program may register beginning Monday, March 16th. Registration forms will be distributed through your child's school if they are students in Springfield Public Schools. You can also pick up a registration form at the SCOPE office.
There is a Non-Refundable Registration Fee of $25.00 per family due with your registration form. You have three options to return this registration form:

3. Turn it in: To the SCOPE Lead at your child's school. The SCOPE Leads will only accept these forms until Wednesday, April 8, 2015. After this date, you will have to either mail or hand-deliver the form.
The registration fee is not paid by CCCC or DCFS and will not be credited toward your weekly SCOPE fee. Registration will be open until all locations have reached maximum capacity. Your child must start Summer SCOPE by the 2nd week of the summer program. If your children have not yet started their spot will be given to another child. If you know that your child will not be starting until a certain date and would like to keep their spot reserved, you must pay half of the regular weekly $95.00 fee per child on Monday for the week of missed service. Please call the SCOPE Office to make this type of arrangement.
The cost per week / per child is $95.00. All payments are due on Monday prior to the week of service.
