Channel 22 Sponsorships

We are piloting an initiative with our cable public access television station that will give local businesses the opportunity to support Springfield Public Schools as well as a new way to reach their customers. Your business can become an official sponsor of Springfield Public Schools and receive airtime on Comcast and AT&T U-verse cable Channel 22.

Currently, Channel 22 serves as the primary outlet for our televised Board of Education meetings, athletic events and school activities. With the support of sponsorships, we hope to expand program offerings, thereby increasing the value to participating businesses and the viewing community.

Details of sponsorship commitments are below, with business and individual (day) options available. District 186 is grateful to all local businesses that have been generous partners throughout the years. We are excited to launch this new program to enhance those relationships, and we look forward to building new ones.

Business Sponsorship:

• $3,000/per year gets you: a 30-second spot shown three times per day.
• $1,500/per year gets you: a 20-second spot shown two times per day.

Business sponsorships follow this format:

• Business Name Supports Springfield Public Schools
• Location
• Phone number
• Website
• Photo or Business Logo

Day Sponsorship:

Individuals who want to congratulate a District 186 sports team or club, wish someone a happy birthday or anniversary, or display other school-related announcements, may purchase day sponsorships for $25 for the first 20-second spot and $5 for each additional spot that day.

Day sponsorships can be up to 30 words in length and include an image.

Example: Today’s programming is made possible in part by Springfield Public Schools day sponsor NAME who wishes the Southeast basketball team luck at City Tournament this weekend.

In order to meet non-commercial requirements, the following is not permissible:

• Overt promotion of products or services
• Price reference
• Call to action or inducement to buy
• Comparative or qualitative descriptions of products or services
• Third-party reviews (from newspapers, magazines, etc.)

Springfield Public School District 186 also reserves the right to prohibit sponsorships that conflict with its values and mission.
